Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers’ (GWISR) social mission is reducing poverty and unemployment. Our job training, placement and advancement programs make this possible by giving people the support and skills they need to find and maintain employment. If you have a lot of energy, a friendly smile and are seeking a fun environment, Ben & Jerry’s may be the place for you. As Assistant Manager, you will report directly to the shop manager and assist with all operations to include preparing of staff schedules, marketing new products, reporting sales and tracking inventory as directed. You will be responsible for ensuring that quality customer service is provided to all visitors and coaching employees on proper customer service standards. You will assist the store manager in developing, mentoring and training teens participating in the shop’s training program. You will have the opportunity to help oversee all compliance and safety standards, ensuring proper integration into the workplace. Qualified candidates must be willing to work 24-29 hours a week and work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
• One year of college plus previous work experience in a in a
customer service oriented environment
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills required
• Experience in restaurant industry preferred
• Working knowledge of inventory control and loss prevention
• Must have a passion for developing people and changing lives

Duties in the shop to include: all operations and preparing of staff schedules, marketing & store promotions, hiring employees, reporting sales and tracking inventory as directed. You will be responsible for ensuring that quality customer service is provided to all visitors and coaching employees on proper customer service standards. You will develop, mentor and train teens participating in the shop’s training program. You will oversee all compliance and safety standards, ensuring proper integration into the workplace. Qualified candidates must be willing to work fulltime and work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays.

• At least a two year college degree
• Previous work experience in a customer service oriented
environment
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills required
• Working knowledge of inventory control and loss prevention
• Cake decorating experience a plus
• Must have a passion for developing people and changing lives
