Leadership

Ben & Jerry’s senior leadership team, known as the Managers of the Mission (MOM), has responded to our changing workplace by redefining its role and reshaping its agenda to meet the current needs of the Company.

Informed by the Company’s 2004 Global People Survey among other things, the MOM targeted three core areas of the business for improvement in 2005: 1) the clarity of the brand vision and business stratehands around the globe graphicgies; 2) the strength of the commitment to Social Mission; and 3) the openness and inclusiveness of communication and decision-making.

With these three core issues in mind, they then identified twelve action items at the June 2005 Central Site Meeting. The list was ambitious and we weren’t able to complete the entire checklist in the six months left in the year, but we made real progress. Most notably, the MOM began an intensive, creative leadership development program and charted a course to articulate a new Company Vision Statement. Both have infused new energy into our organization and our work. The remaining action items are on our agenda for 2006, and we expect to reap continued dividends from this process as we go forward.
