Here at Ben & Jerry’s, we take pride in rolling out new and unique flavor creations. If we didn’t let our Flavor Gurus get a little adventurous, the world would be without such delicacies as Cake Batter and Strawberry Cheesecake ice creams. Talk about your waffle cone tragedies!
With all of our exploring and discovering, we celebrate creative concoctions by releasing a number of Limited Batch flavors each year. These pints are only available for a short time, but their tastes live on in the spoons and memories of millions*. Read on to learn about our 10 most popular ones:
Peanut Butter Half Baked™
Scotchy Scotch Scotch
Ron Burgundy’s signature flavor. Sixty-percent of the time, the butterscotch ice cream with butterscotch swirls was delicious every time.
Maybe you remember Holy Cannoli. Maybe you don’t. It doesn’t really matter, because this Cannoli was a totally different flavor. This Limited Batch pint was filled with a mascarpone ice cream with fudge covered cannoli pieces and a mascarpone swirl.
Everyone loved our Schweddy Balls. Well, maybe not everyone. But for those with a sense of humor (and taste), the mix of vanilla ice cream with a hint of rum and fudge-covered rum and malt balls was a welcomed holiday treat.
Key Lime Pie
Did you ever eat dessert and think, “Holy cow! This should be an ice cream flavor”? Our Flavor Gurus did. And Key Lime Pie was born with a tangy lime swirl, fluffy meringue swirl and pie crust pieces.
Our Flavor Gurus work really hard, maybe too hard. Was this Limited Batch the result of a Flavor Guru's tropical island daydream while stuck in Vermont in February? Or was this frozen cocktail flavor combination just too tempting not to attempt? Who cares? It was awesome!
Fair Goodness Cake!
What do you get when you combine Fairtrade Certified chocolate ice cream with German chocolate cake pieces and a coconut caramel swirl? Yup. You guessed it. Number 7 on our list.
Candy Bar Pie
It’s no fun having to choose between your favorite candy bars. So our Flavor Gurus created this peanut buttery, fudge chunky, chocolate nougatty and pretzely swirl mash up.
Hannah Teter’s Maple Blondie
We liked that Hannah Teter was a Vermont snowboarder who won a gold medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics. We loved that she was trying to raise money to help communities in Africa. So we gave her this flavor and joined the cause!
Cherry Garcia Greek Frozen Yogurt
It was just like the ice cream flavor, except it was completely different because was Greek Frozen Yogurt, and not ice cream. The public approved, and we’re pretty sure Jerry would have, too.
These 10 Limited Batch flavors tickled taste buds for a brief instant before disappearing back to the great big freezer in the sky. Do you have a suggestion for a new one that we should test out? Tell us about it here. It just may come to life!
And as always, keep an eye on our Flavors page so you can see when a new Limited Batch hits the stores. You’ve got to get them while they’re hot! Or cold. Yeah, you’ll probably want them cold.
*Millions is such a big number. We’re talking 7 zeros. SEVEN! We don’t have any proof that there are that many people pining over these pints, but you don’t have any proof that they’re not. So let’s call it a draw, shall we?
