Small and large businesses came together at a recent press conference to show support for Washington ballot measure Initiative 522—the measure to give grocery shoppers more information about the groceries they are buying and eating.
Ben & Jerry’s co-founder, Jerry Greenfield, was there to offer his support for I-522: “Sourcing ingredients, perfecting formulas and updating packaging are tasks food producers handle on a regular basis. So to those who say this can’t be done, that it’s too complicated, or too expensive – we whole-heartedly disagree. Ben & Jerry’s is proof. Supporting the I–522 initiative to label is doable at virtually no extra cost within the regular scope of business.”
