St. Louis’ Workhouse Jail By the Numbers

The Workhouse jail in St. Louis is a “hopeless” and “hellish” place—and 90% of the people being held there haven’t been convicted of anything. Despite that, St. Louis continues to pour millions of dollars every year into operating it. Just think of all the good that money could do if it were invested in people and communities instead.

It’s time to close the Workhouse. Together we can end money bail and transform the criminal justice system—in St. Louis and all over the country.
