New Flavor Alert: Justice ReMix’d

September 4, 2019

Pint of Ben & Jerry's Justice ReMix'd ice cream.

Our criminal justice system has a serious justice problem. As in there’s way too little of it. It’s racist. It’s broken. We have to do better. And together, we will.

Introducing Justice ReMix’d. We just launched this delicious (you need to try these spicy fudge brownies!) new Limited Batch flavor in Washington, DC, with the hope of putting a whole lot more justice in the criminal justice system. Proceeds will go to Advancement Project National Office, a national next-generation civil rights organization working to end systemic racism.

“We work with communities across the country that are trying to change the systems of oppression,” Judith Browne Dianis, executive director of Advancement Project, told us. “We need a remix.” With your help, we can make sure that everyone enjoys the sweet taste of justice.

We came down to Washington, DC to unveil Justice ReMix’d right smack in the middle of our nation’s capital.

Washington Monument, Washington, DC

We did it in partnership with Advancement Project, who showed up in force.

Judith Browne Dianis, their Executive Director, talked about the importance of lifting up local communities that have been decimated by this unjust system.

Our cofounders, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, officially revealed the new flavor. “True patriotism,” Ben said, “is helping our country match its deeds to its words.”

Co-founders Ben and Jerry

After the conference, Ben and Jerry rolled up their sleeves and scooped ice cream for the overflowing crowd.

From there the party spread to southeast DC. It was a good ol’-fashioned ice cream social hosted by We Act Radio.

With Words Beats & Life providing the soundtrack as we scooped and scooped more Justice ReMix’d.

It was a great day in DC. But this is only the beginning. Every time you buy some Justice ReMix’d, you’ll be helping Advancement Project to support grassroots organizations fighting for justice all over the country. Of course, it’ll take more than that to transform the system. Join the movement. Build the movement. Let’s make “justice for all” a reality for everyone. Find Justice ReMix'd near you!
