Fudge the Status Quo!

People power is what makes us strong.

We are facing a generation-defining threat to our most basic rights which protect and belong to everyone in this country. The criminalization of dissent, the erosion of voter protections, the use of military force against civilian communities — these are the hallmarks of authoritarian practices.

That’s why we are resisting together. This week, on the anniversary of the signing of the 1965 Voting Rights Act, we took our message of “FUDGE FASCISM” to Washington, DC. In the shadows of the monuments that remind us of what this country promised to be, in the city where democracy is supposed to live, we showed up to defend it.

We know that what we do now will shape our future. And across the country countless people are coming together to take action. Voting rights advocacy groups are fighting unjust election laws in the courts. Peaceful protesters are showing up in the millions to demonstrations across the nation. And independent journalists are speaking truth to power despite mounting pressure. These are our real leaders, the everyday people doing everything they can to protect one another.

Authoritarianism concentrates power in the hands of a few at the expense of everyone else's freedom. It targets the most vulnerable first: Black and Brown people, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, and more. This administration is using military force in our communities with no accountability and locking people up without due process — all targeting our most vulnerable communities. But authoritarianism comes for everyone’s freedoms eventually.

People power wins against authoritarianism all the time. That’s why it’s so important — essential! — that we all come together to build a just, fair, and free society. History is filled with examples of ordinary people deciding that enough is enough and rising up for a better future. Now it’s our turn.

When we have something important to say, we say it with ice cream. That’s where our new Limited Batch Razz Up! ice cream flavor comes in. This black raspberry ice cream with crackling fudge chunks and raspberry swirls churns up a powerful message about coming together at the polls this election season. When we vote for the people and policies that actually reflect community needs, we can have a big impact! Together, we can build a sweet future where everyone has what they need to thrive.
