Job Description

About Ben & Jerry’s

Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc., started in 1978 in a renovated gas station in Burlington, Vermont, USA, founded by childhood friends and dedicated activists Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield. In 2000 Ben & Jerry’s became a wholly owned autonomous subsidiary of Unilever (now owned by The Magnum Ice Cream Company (TMICC)) with a unique governance structure that provides for an independent Board of Directors vested with primary responsibility for advancing Ben & Jerry's social mission and ensuring the essential integrity of the brand.

Ben & Jerry’s is one of TMICC’s most valuable and iconic brands, with annual turnover exceeding €1 Billion, and with high ambitions to double the business, and expand its impact throughout the world. Central to the mission of Ben & Jerry's is the belief that all three parts of its mission must thrive equally. This translates into a high-paced growth environment without compromising our grassroots and activist spirit. That is how we remain a true purpose-led organization with a connected 3-part mission, which you will find reflected in our KPI’s.

Are you a creative leader ready to shape the global expression of one of the world’s most iconic purpose-driven brands?

Ben & Jerry’s is looking for our next Global Creative Director — a role that leads the creative vision, storytelling, and design systems that bring our products, purpose, and fan love to life around the world.

This is a chance to shape the next chapter of Ben & Jerry’s creative expression — honoring what makes the brand beloved while evolving how it connects with fans, shows up in culture, and brings its three-part mission to life around the world.

You’ll help bring the brand to life across global campaigns, packaging, digital content, experiential moments, and fan-love touchpoints — from surprise-and-delight experiences to the creative details that make Ben & Jerry’s unmistakable.

Who You Are

You’re a creative leader, storyteller, and brand builder who thrives at the intersection of culture, design, product, and purpose.

You know how to turn big ideas into meaningful work—and inspire teams to deliver creative that resonates globally.

At your core, you:

  • Lead creative teams with clarity, energy, and a high bar for excellence
  • Build brands that earn deep emotional connection and cultural relevance
  • Translate strategy into powerful, insight‑driven creative
  • Blend storytelling, design, and innovation across channels
  • Stay ahead of culture and bring fresh thinking to every brief
  • Believe creativity can spark joy and drive meaningful change

What You’ll Get to Do

As the Global Creative Director, you’ll sit within the Global Integrated Marketing team and work hand in hand with our Digital Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Marketing Innovation teams to meet the creative needs of the business across all global markets. You’ll shape and elevate Ben & Jerry’s creative expression worldwide, including:

Creative Strategy & Brand Stewardship

  • Mentor talent and build capabilities that position the organization for future growth
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders across Marketing, Innovation, Consumer Insights, Digital, and Commercial teams to align creative priorities and business goals
  • Influence senior stakeholders and align creative priorities with brand growth, and innovation strategies

Creative Operations & Execution

  • Oversee the end-to-end creative development process across brand packaging, digital, social, retail, and experiential channels
  • Ensure creative work is strategically aligned, insight-driven, and executed to the highest standards of craft
  • Establish efficient workflows, governance, and operating models that enable speed, consistency, and quality
  • Manage budgets, agency partnerships, and creative resources to maximize impact and effectiveness.
  • Maintain a high standard of craft across design, typography, and visual execution
  • Ensure best-in-class creative execution across digital, physical, and experiential formats

What Makes This Role Unique

At Ben & Jerry’s, creative is more than how things look — it’s how we build emotional connection, spark joy, invite fans in, and bring our values to life.

This role sits at the center of product, purpose, culture, and community, shaping work that is unmistakably Ben & Jerry’s across markets, moments, and channels.

It is a unique opportunity to help define how the brand shows up next while staying grounded in the joy, values, and activist spirit that have made it iconic.
