Ben & Jerry’s fans take note! 2015 is coming to a close, which means it’s time to get bombarded with parties, resolutions, and yes…top 10 lists. But for all you ice cream addicts, this is the only list that matters. So let’s look back on the year that was, raise our pints, and say “cheers” to the top 10 Ben & Jerry’s flavors of 2015:
10. Salted Caramel Core
Magic, mystery, and science all go into our Cores, but little did we know this salted caramel concoction would become such a hit. We like to think it’s the chunks of blonde brownie that push it over the top.
9. Strawberry Cheesecake
A top 10 list regular, this sleeper hit’s popularity never ceases to amaze us. Jam-packed with strawberries and a graham cracker swirl, it proves once and for all that you can have your cake and scoop it, too.
8. The Tonight Dough
Leave it to our friend Jimmy Fallon to dream up an instant hit. As indulgent as Fallon is funny, this new-for-2015 flavor cranks the Chunk-O-Meter to the max and then breaks the knob right off. Better yet, you can enjoy it knowing all proceeds benefit the SeriousFun Children’s Network.
7. Chunky Monkey
Swinging in at #7 is the nuttiest chocolatey-chunkiest concoction-gone-bananas. Give it a try—you’ll go ape for it, no monkey business needed. Was that too much, or not punny enough?
6. Americone Dream
Climbing the 2014 Top Ten Flavors list to #6 is our friend Stephen Colbert’s amazing mix. Could its rising popularity be the 1776% of your daily recommended allowance of freedom, or is it simply the crunch of the fudge-covered waffle cone pieces? We may never know.
5. Phish Food
Chalk it up to hometown pride, but it’s always awesome to see our favorite band’s signature jam consistently place in the top 5. Try as they might, there’s simply no bootlegging this mix of fudgy and gooey caramel and marshmallow swirl.
4. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
A fan favorite year after year, we made the world’s first batch of chocolate chip cookie dough back in 1984. Today, it still reigns among our all-time most popular concoctions.
3. Chocolate Fudge Brownie
Chocolate lovers take note! This one doesn’t just taste good but does good, too, by using brownies from Greyston Bakery, whose mission is to provide jobs and training to the low-income residents of Yonkers, New York.
2. Cherry Garcia
After a decade at the top, this classic flavor was dethroned in 2013. Now holding strong in the #2 spot, Cherry Garcia will always win us over as the first ice cream named for a rock legend, and the most famous of our fan-suggested flavors.
1. Half Baked
Three years in a row at the top spot is no small feat. Will this gooey, gobbly, chunkalicious combination of fudge brownies and chocolate chip cookie dough continue to reign supreme in the coming year? Place your bets in the comments below. Until then, here’s to a sweet 2016!
Well, there you have it, folks, another trip around the sun. 2015 has been a big year full of chunks, swirls, and a whole lotta love. We laughed, we cried, and we still can’t find our car keys, but our love for everything ice cream hasn’t faded yet.
