Celebrating 40 Years of The Ben & Jerry’s Foundation: A Legacy of Giving and Justice

This week we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Ben & Jerry’s Foundation, and we want to take a moment to recognize the extraordinary impact of its work. Since 1985, the Foundation has been an inspiring force for good, granting nearly $70 million to grassroots organizations, with over $50 million in just the last 25 years.

For four decades, the Foundation and our business have been united, not just by name, but by a shared commitment to justice, equity, and community-led change. This relationship has helped uplift movements, amplify marginalized voices, and build a more inclusive world, one grant, one project, one community at a time.

Looking ahead, we’re excited about the next forty years - and more! - and we’re discussing with the Foundation ways to ensure its continued independence and promotion of progressive values through strengthened governance. Together, we’re working on a framework rooted in transparency, accountability, and long-term resilience. And we’re exploring new ways to deepen employee involvement.
