ACLU
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that has been working to protect our civil liberties for over a century. Right now they’ve teamed up with Amnesty International to help students defend their right to free speech on college campuses. Together, they are working to create a “firewall” to protect students against attacks on their rights. They are working with students across the country to introduce and pass campus resolutions that call on campus administrations to defend the rights of students and refuse to facilitate attacks on free speech, academic freedom, and inclusive learning environments.
Slow Factory
Slow Factory is an award-winning cultural and climate research lab building frameworks for media literacy as a form of First Amendment protection. In an era of censorship, disinformation, and systemic erasure, they create public tools, curricula, and campaigns that empower communities to recognize propaganda, challenge dominant narratives, and reclaim their right to speak, know, and dissent. From open-source education to counter-surveillance design, their work defends freedom of expression by making media literacy a civic survival skill.
Amnesty International USA
Amnesty International is a global organization committed to advancing human rights for all. They work to fight human rights abuses worldwide, from torture and child labor to discrimination and workers’ rights violations.
